Easy Spooktacular Gluten Free Halloween Treats

The crisp fall air is upon us, which means for many people  are excited to bake their fall favorites like pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, apple crisp, and more yummy treats. For those who like to bake also know Halloween is a fun time to showcase creative treats that look and taste great. Here are some baked goods your gluten free guests can indulge too. We have come up with a few ides to make your Gluten free prep for Halloween easy, delicious and a little spookier than just candy.

Chocolate Monster Brownies and Cookies

To make these you will need:

Make and Follow directions on all abundant life foods mixes above.

Step 2

Divide icing into separate bowls and add desired food coloring.

Step 3

Decorate cookie and brownies as pictured below. Top with chocolate candies and eye ball. Enjoy!

Mummy Hot Dogs

To make these you will need:

 

Step 1

Follow directions on bread mix to make dough.  Take small amounts of dough at a time and roll out with both hands to make long snake like strips. mixes above. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, leaving 1/2 inch uncovered for face. Arrange on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Step 2

Let rise for 30 min

Step 3

Whisk together egg and water; brush over dough. Bake at 350° for 14 to 16 minutes, or until golden. Dot mustard on hot dogs with a toothpick to form eyes, if desired.

 

Sugar Cookie Cut-Out Cookies

To make these you will need:

Follow the recipe below and make cookies

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup unsalted butter
  • 1 Cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups Abundant Life Foods gluten Free All-Purpose Flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In the bowl, Mix together the butter and sugar until smooth, at least 3 minutes
  3. Beat in extracts and egg.
  4. In a separate bowl combine baking powder and salt with flour. Add the dry ingredient to the wet ingredients a little at a time. Mix until incorporated and stiff. Do not overmix.
  5. Sprinkle surface with gluten free flour, Divide into workable batches, roll out onto a surface and cut. You want these cookies to be around 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.

Step 2

Follow directions to make icing mix and divide into bowls. Add desired food coloring to icing and mix into icing.

Step 3

Decorate cookies as shown below. You can use a plastic bag for piping by putting icing in bag and cutting the tip off one end of the plastic bag.

Spider Web Donuts

To make these you will need:

Step 1

Follow directions on bag to make gluten Free Doughnuts.

Step 2

 Follow directions to make icing mix and divide into 2 bowls. Add orange food coloring to one bowl and mix until incorporated. Add black food coloring into the other bowl and mix until incorporated.  Use a piping bag for the black icing or you can use a plastic bag for piping by putting icing into plastic zip lock bag and cut the tip off one end of the plastic bag.
